If you live in
Canada like me and you
coupon you are familiar with
coupon sites where you order your
coupons on-line and they are mailed to you for free. These
coupons are great but there are problems:
- Sometimes they take forever to get. It's strange. You may get some coupons within a week of ordering but I have had it take 3 weeks
- Sometimes you just don't get your coupons at all. Sad but true.
- You REALLY need to be on top of things. I always check a few times a week for newly added coupons. If there is something I use and there is a coupon I order it right away and hope it goes on sale after I have received my coupons.
- Websaver has a bad habit of making you order at least 3 coupons to process your order. The thing is sometimes they only have 6-8 coupons available. If you have not reached the reorder period for these coupons there many not be 3 coupons to order.
- Save.ca-Get with it! Please start printing your coupons on pre-scored paper so we can put our scissors away!
I just tried to use a coupon I printed off the internet at Food Basics and they said they don't accept printable coupons. They couldn't or wouldn't give me an answer why. Do you know why that is so? Which other stores won't accept them?
ReplyDeleteThanks for your question.
ReplyDeleteSobey's, Metro, Price Chopper, Food Basics and Fresh Co do not accept Printable coupons, at least not the stores I shop at. If you want to use a printable coupon for an item in the flyer just price match it at Zellers or Walmart.
A lot of companies are getting burned by fake printable coupons. These stores have to accept the loss if they accept coupons that are not valid because they don't get reimbursed for them.
Personally, I'm wondering about how much business they loose not accepting printables compared to the loss from fake coupons.
My Sobey's stopped accepting printables a couple years ago when there was a fake coupon circulating for a free Maple Leaf product( I think it was maple leaf) People were photocopying the coupon and getting free product at the store worth $8-$10. A local website even listed the coupon on their site, I emailed them and told them it might be a good idea to remove it as it wasn't valid.
I think the grocery stores lost big on that one.
I've just recently starting couponing. I'm signed up to websites and asked friends and neighbours to save the coupons they recieve in the mail and their papers. Any other suggestions on where I could get coupons??? I do go through my local grocery stores once a week and try to find coupons, but they're few and far between.
ReplyDeleteIf you shop at Loblaws stores (RCSS, Zehrs, Fortino's ect) they usually have a "Coupon zone" Board by the entrance with store coupons. Walmart will accept other stores coupons.
ReplyDeleteYou could also try to email or write to brands, sign up on their websites and follow brands on Facebook. Maple leaf just did a bunch of great coupon giveaways on Facebook for Bacon, pie crust and Dairy Milk Chocolate bars
